nice place to be. beach and town are clean but everthing is expensive like food. clothing, accessories and etc. just nice for relaxing only

Karon beach is very quiet during the low season - there was not much to do. There weren't really any activities going on at the beach and the currents were quite strong - you would have to be careful with kids. I wouldn't really call it a family place. It would suit a couple looking for peace and quiet more.
The restaurants were all good and value for money, we especially liked the Red Onion and the Two Chefs. Our worse meal was at the Irish Pub.
The massage places are very well priced compared to other places around Phuket - well worth it.
You can only really get basic groceries there so you really do need to have car.

I would come here again in a heart beat. I loved Karon and everything that surrounds it. As my first trip to Asia, Thailand surpassed my expectations and made the 17 hour flight worth it enough to want to do it again. The people are friendly, helpful, and the culture is incredible. I will be back soon!
