If you are looking for lively nightlife, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place that's off the beaten track, that's landscape has not been blighted by huge hotels and almost gives you the feeling of stepping back in time, and living the way the locals do. Then, this is it. The church in the centre is absolutely beautiful and the bells ring frequently throughout the day. There was a couple of small shops and a couple of mobile shops that came around and a van selling fresh bread arrives every morning, but you really need to go to Victoria for food shopping. Lovely and peaceful.

If you are looking for authenticity and want to feel like one of the locals try Zebbug. There is one small shop and visiting "vans" on a daily basis. No eating places (that we found) in the village but two very good ones a short (and hair-raising!) trip along the coast road towards Marsalforn, Sea View bistro and Chez Amands. Zebbug stands on one of the higher hills in Gozo, watch out for windy weather in May!! The church dominates the square in the village and is a beautiful place of worship - just dont expect a lay in on Sundays!! The locals are friendly and helpful and seem to find holiday makers quite a curiosity! We would definately stay here again - Thank you to everyone who made our holiday such a wonderful one - especially the waitress in Chez Amands who our two year old son took to flirting with quite unashamedly!
