beautiful scenery a quiet location, but near enough to the beach if you feel like all round great!
Review by Dave Gardiner from Liverpool
Los Piedaos provides the perfect base, in a beautiful setting, for a holiday in the Alpujarras. The mountains and the villages linked by superb and very varied walks, provide a great landscape for exploring on foot or by bike. We had a superb holiday, even popping down to the coast on the final day to laze on the beaches at Sallobrena and La Herradura and have a swim; idyllic.

The best destination in Spain!

This was a delight - peaceful, idyllic setting, panoramic views, thousands of stars uninterrupted by light pollution, the call of the scoot owl, a hoopoe, long days on the roof terrace with books, wine and perfect setting. Enriching and nourished the soul. Don't come here if you want to party - but if you want utter peace and to feel instantly at home then don't hesitate.

Incredibly beautiful, I don't know what it's like in the high season but in November it was so tranquil we could have stayed much longer just soaking up the atmosphere. The new road up from the coast is amazing. We drove 4 miles up the three lane motorway without seeing another vehicle on either side. Delighted when we finaly did see other traffic as we had almost convinced ourselves we had died and gone to heaven!!!(Or that the road wasn't open yet)Hard to say which more beautiful the clear sharp blue daysky, or the starlit nights with the essence of olive woodsmoke drifting through. Earlymornings were a delight as our panoramic mountain view alowed us to watch the sun rise and colour the snow capped montains as the lights in the valley houses gradually gave way to the sunshine. Definitely recomended to anyone who seeks peace and tranquility.

A stay in the Alpujarras is for people who want to wake up to the sound of birds, and to views of mist rising from the valleys. It is accessible but peaceful, not for disco lovers, definitely for those who are looking for room to breathe. It is spectacular, not chocolate-box pretty. I love it!
Review by Glenys Perri from ADELAIDE, SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Our first impression of the region was 'agh its so dry and almost a little barren' (and we're from drought stricken South Australia) but as each day unfolded we experienced different elements of what to us seemed like an ever changing dramatic landscape. Great colours, vistas, villages and scenery. One comment was our surprise and a little displeasure at the dreadlocked scruffy and dirty hippie set from the UK that have settled into enclaves in this region - this component made us happier to cook in our villa and dine in rather than go into the village on a regular basis

The Alpujarras is a great location for people who like beautiful mountain scenery and especially those who like walking. It is a quiet and peaceful area and although there are some good restaurants they are not as sophisticated as those in the bigger cities.

Beautiful walking country.

There were loads of information supplied by the owners. We were able to choose from the selections without having to do a lot of research before arrival. A list of therapists were available too for the area, and we really got spoiled. They come to the cottage to give you the treatments!
Review by Chloe & Katie Fox-Lambert from Winchester
We visited Torviscon and stayed in a beautifull restored village house. The scenary in breathtaking, the mountains filled us with awe and wonder, the air clean and the atmosphere magical. we found friendly faces and smiles everywhere we travelled throughout these pretty white villages. For us it was an adventure that we will undoughtedly repeat- though I guess the roads arent for the faint hearted!
