I first went to Altinkum 4 years ago and loved it I have been back each year since and have purchased an appartment there which was the reason for my visit this year as it was completed and i needed to furnish it.
the beaches in altinkum are amazing the water is clean and warm and there are plenty of them.
The people are friendly and very helpful supermarkets are well stocked and reasonably priced . there aer plenty shops and the night life is busy.
The restaurants are ok i find the food very bland and all the restaurants serve almost exactly the same food
some beter than others.
As a fish lover i was let down .everytime I tried the fish (and I tried a variety) none of wich i could honestly recommend
All that said it would never put me off Altincum has grown since i first visted and it continues to do so its a beautiful place and atruly lovely destination for families couples and singles alike and the weather is glorious

Altinkum is a vibrant resort with a lovely main beach which if it gets too much for you has alternative smaller quiter beaches close by. If you wish the best of all worlds you can have the action of main beach within distance of the quiter side of tukish life. Boat trips are fantastic value with plenty of choice & if history is your thing, then its all available on a small scale locally or for days trips further afield. Turkish people are amongst the friendliest have found & will support any attempt at their tricky language with pleasure.

Altinkum is a wonderful family orientated resort which provides, in addition to a wonderful clean beach and safe swimming areas the resort caters for all age groups. The restaurants are very child friendly and the food on offer is varied and very palatable and reasonably priced. The locals in the resort will help whenever they can and are very friendly and most can speak enough English to get you through your querie. There are good shopping facilities on the beach and also within 5 minutes walk from the beach with a very good bus service to cater for the ones who wish to venture further into other areas and to other attractions.
"The best apartment" we have ever stayed in during all our years In Turkey!!! The company who manage these properties has to be second to none with no hassles whatsoever and the enquiries to the owners are answered within 24 hours of the e-mail being sent. This particular property is in a quiet area very close to most of the facilities in Altinkum, and is furnished to an excellent stasndard with every facility a family would need.

Made to feel so welcome
My family and I were in Altinkum last year and we all loved it. We were made to feel so welcome.
The Touch of Class restaurant was superb, as well as the food and host.

Lots to do
I went to Altinkum for two weeks in June and it was the best time ever. It's a lovely, friendly place and loved it. I'm going back in September because I loved it.
There's lots to do and I was never bored. My pals and I were were thinking about moving over four six months because it was totally mint.

Cheap and friendly
I know Altinkum very well. I've visited numerous times and I've even stayed for the season.
It's a really nice, friendly place. It is full of bars, restaurants and a few nightclubs. It's cheap and definitely worth a visit.
Everything is fake, apart from the jewellery which is amazing. My top tip for Turkey is to haggle - they love it. But the perfume clothes and bags are real.
You can get a bit of hassle if you are a group of girls but a simple "No, thank you" then walk away should do the trick.
The food is amazing too. Go to the summer garden restaurant. The nicest time to go is September. July and August are too hot.

|
| | | Altinkum | | Why go on holiday to Altinkum? Altinkum, a peaceful resort on Turkey's South Aegean coast, has a great pale sand beach that gently shelves into calm waters, making it a hit with families. Watersports and decent nightlife add to the resort's appeal and there are shops and bars to explore. Altinkum is close to popular Bodrum and a day trip away from some of southern Turkey's best sightseeing.
How much will it cost? Accommodation: from about £320 for a week's self-catering package based on up to four sharing in low season months such as May, September and October. Return flights from London start at about £100 in low season.
When should I go? July and August are the hottest, busiest months with average highs of 32C/90F. April-June and September-October are ideal — cooler, cheaper for packages and you're guaranteed to have more of the resort to yourself.
Who's it for? Tourists of all ages holiday in Altinkum, but particularly families with younger children and couples who want an easy-going holiday. The resort serves up familiar British meals in restaurants and cafes named after English landmarks.
The resort is smaller and quieter than British haunts Bodrum and Kusadasi nearby, but equally well situated for day trips to fascinating Roman and Turkish attractions.
What are the must-sees? Beachfront bars, Altinkum Beach and restaurants are where most tourists hang out by day. For a change of scene check out bigger resort Bodrum nearby and from there visit Greek island Kos, a ferry ride away.
Ephesus, an incredibly well-preserved Roman city, makes a fascinating day trip from Altinkum and shouldn't be missed.
Several hours inland from Altinkum is Pamukkale, a Unesco World Heritage site and one of Turkey's most amazing natural wonders. White cotton wool-like terraces here, formed over years by mineral deposits from hot thermal springs, make for an unforgettable experience.
What will I spend? These vary greatly, but as a rough guide: bottle of beer £1, glass of local beer 50p, bottle of local wine £2, moderate restaurant meal with wine £10, 24-exposure camera film £2.50, four-mile taxi ride £6.50.
