During your visit to Anteguera you must see... A town enriched with so much history clearly will have so much to visit. Just a stroll through the streets of Antequera will enlighten you about the area. It is a picturesque medieval town scattered with ancient architecture. There are also some museums to visit. The Museum of Bullfighting is of particular interest. A must-see is the dolmens located in a park west of the town. These mass tombs made up of huge slabs of rock are as old as the town. Also worth a visit is the recently excavated Roman Baths.
But it isn’t just the town of Antequera you should be visiting. Close by are some of the most spectacular scenes of southern Spain. The Natural Reserve El Torcal is of particular interest famed by its unusual limestone formations. The whole area was under sea until one hundred million years ago. The park will be of interest to Nature fanatics as there is a wide variety of flora and fauna to be found here, including 30 different types of Orchids. You will find El Torcal next to the village of Villanueva de la Concepcion.
