apart from the peaceful sound of silence, the only other sound was the tinkling of goats bells in the distance on the hill.
Review by Pauline Lynch from Little Ryburgh
This was a beautiful region not yet fully hit by the tourist trade as it is on the Eastern side of Crete. Thankfully, we didn't come across any 'pubs', large screens or displays of faded photographs outside restaurants and tavernas showing you what egg and chips looks like! A brilliant holiday!

For us it was Greece as it's mean't to be
Review by Andrew Hanson from Welling
It remains undiscovered. Nothing can be better than the feeling of driving around this area with the white mountains and the beautiful views over Souda Bay, ocassionally interupted by the farmer on his moped herding his sheep. In the evenings you can hear the sheep bells as they roam around the area. One other big bonus, no traffic jams, heaven.
Review by Claire & Dorian Graves from Belper
Had a great time, in a wonderful, unspoilt and family orientated place. Came away feeling relaxed, happy and peaceful. Felt like we had spent time in a piece of heaven!
Review by GR Moody from Burton Bradstock
The Apokoronas "peninsular" is very varied, with developed, busy and sometimes crowded beaches at Almerida and Georgolpolis, and unspoiled little bays off the beaten track and charming towns and villages away from the coast. The views are often spectacular both over the sea and towards teh mountains. You need a car!
Review by Ingrid and Henk van der Pal from Maastricht, the Netherlands
We found the Lemon Tree Cottage in Litsarda very comfortable with all its mod cons, a good bed and a very nice and private outside space. We absolutely had good value for money and it definitely met with our expectations. We can reccommend this cottage to everyone who is looking for comfort in beautiful quiet surroundings in an area with lots of interesting places to visit. A bonus...the view in front of the cottage is absolutely stunning. Henk and Ingrid, Maastricht, the Netherlands
