we found the apartment itself to be perfect for our stay, but were a little disappointed with its location.

Athens is awesome. Such history and fabulous museums, good food, excellent public transportation -- we loved our stay.

Athens is a fantastic city. A place full of life, both modern and ancient. From the towering pillared ruins to the sometimes graffiti adorned modern highrises and rundown back streets. Athens is a an eclectic living city as well as a living museum. It's a place to explore and get lost with nearly every street having something of interest to offer. Whether you want to wander around amazing ancient sites or shop in high class shops or bizarre flea markets, or just sit and watch the world go by, Athens is a great place to do it all. I'll be going back!

Athens is a great place to go if you want to combine history, culture and relaxation. You can spend time at the great archaeological sites in the city or you can have a lazy day on a lovely beaches which are on the tram line. Transport around the city is easy and CHEAP- only 10 Euros for a 7 day ticket for ALL metro, buses and trams( Except to and from the airport). There are fabulous restaurants all over the main tourist areas, with great salads and main courses. We rented an apartment slightly away from the main tourist areas - much more space and comfort than a hotel for about the same price. Athens is very hot in the summer, but as long as you have air conditioning in your accomodation ans remember to drink lots of water and use sun cream, you will be fine!

Seeing the amazing archaeological sights in person is really the dream of a lifetime!

Easy to navigate with plenty to do and see. More expensive than we expected especially drinks and eating out. Was good to be there in the winter as the sights are less crowded and temperatures pleasent.

We were so surprised at what a great place it was to visit in December! It was easy to walk around and see the sites, no tourists! The weather was cool and easy to deal with. I would go to Athens in December again!

There was so much to do and see in Athens City - ancient sites, cultural sites, a variety of entertainment (theatre, musical), gastronomic delights and great opportunities for shopping. The tourist information office was far from informative, however we found great information in a free weekly Athens newspaper written in english that detailed upcoming events, as well as containing reviews of restaurants in the greater Athens area - we tried one recommended restaurant at Vouliagmeni which was absolutely fabulous. We should have bought more souveniers in Athens as the was more variety and the prices were so much higher everywhere else we went! We loved Athens and will definitely return.
