I came to visit my son. I would have never expected that he is living in such a beautiful city. The seafront is very beautiful and the peolpe is very warm. You do not need to go to London to have good restaurants, theather and fun. A very beatuiful city.

We were most interested in the history of Brighton, notably, of course the Royal Pavilion. Our visit to the pavilion was helped by the clear audio guide. The surrounding countryside was also attractive and our visit to the Seven Sisters Country Park helped us appreciate the coastline and the beautiful scenic walks. There were also interesting and historic places to visit such as Eastbourne , Lewes and Rottingdean. The Kipling Gardens in Rottingdean were peaceful and well maintained. The bus system was excellent and the drivers always ready to help with directions. We benefited from the Saver Ticket which we obtained from the Visitor Information Office. The bracing walks along the front from the Marina to Hove were good for the health as well as providing plenty of interest. The little Volks Railway gave the chance to travel along the front if one needed a rest!

Brighton & Hove is amazing is a place where you can fun and relax is the best place for me to enjoy life real life.
Review by Emma Nicholson from Shanghai
Brighton is a very young city and extremely diverse. As there are a couple of universities and many colleges in the local areas the town is full of colourful young people from many different countries as well as from UK. This gives brighton a youthful feel about it. Brighton is also a place where anything goes and you can see people wearing all different styles of clothing and dress with hairstyles to match. There are so many events during the year that Brighton is never dull from the Brighton Festival to Gay Pride to theatre groups to classical music to Radio One in the Park. And not forgetting the wonderful sight of the swooping starlings as they twirl around the old pier before they roost as the sun goes down behind them.

The Brighton Pavilion is a real treat and has a fantastic children's guide too.

Brighton can be whatever you want it to be - it attracts people for many different reasons. We went for a relaxing break and to go to a concert. It certainly fulfilled our expectations.
Review by Kathryn Rowles from Evesham
A great place for a weekend with a group of friends. Shopping, seaside attractions, shops, restaurants & bars. A place that buzzes with life!
Fabulous restaurant in North Road - Bill's at the Depot. Looks like a farmshop/greengrocers at first look but behind the barrow of fruit & veg lurks the most fabulous restaurant. The food was fresh & looked & tasted wonderful. The setting is quirky - reminded me of Quincy Market in Boston.....and the puddings......to die for!

Brighton/Hove a good fun time place for all ages. Very cosmopolitan, loads of bars and restaurants - you'll never go hungry! It all comes however at a price!

Brighton has long been a favorite destination of mine. I'm currently located near New York City and often long for it's quaint yet incredibly well stocked seaside charm. Superb vegetarian friendly restaurants with surprizingly diverse crowds. I always come home with my bags over-stuffed with fabulous treasures (did all my Christmas shopping in October there this year,) and have even exported furniture across the pond, found in upscale yet very welcoming antique shops. Together with CityPad's wonderful flats at shockingly good values for thriving Brighton, it's really one of the best destination for everyone.

Brighton is an exciting place for the young professionals and university people. A little expensive but a place where there are a lot of options for a pint and some bangers and mash. I found the people to be very friendly and helpful. The bus system made movement in the city easy and cost effective and the train system made movement into and out of the city (into London) very simple. We spent a month in Brighton over Christmas and had no problems getting services although I would expect more people and delays at restaurants during the peak summer season. We will be back.
Review by Laura Francis from Bristol
Brighton has some brilliant shopping and wonderful restaurants, in winter time you can go for a bracing walk along the seafront. It is one of the few real old fashioned British sea-side resorts left. Beautiful houses in Hove, and the crazy but lovely Dome give it some historical interest too. Recommend Bill's in North Laine for breakfast and Pinxo People on Western Road for amazing tapas with great service.
Review by Richard Brennan from Miami
It was well worth staying in Brighton as an alternative to London, especially with the 50 minute journey trains through the country side running just about every 30 min from early morning until after 1 am each night.
The night life and scenery is fabulous, its like London on a much smaller and intimate scale.
Review by Geoff Chapman from Urunga
Found Brighton and Hove a great introduction to England. Plenty of history and easy striking distance to London. Shops and pubs all friendly and helpful.
Review by Craig Wells from Worthing
Church Road has many restaurants and cafes which we frequently visited. The prices were reasonable, but above all there was plenty of choice and everywhere we went had a friendly atmosphere about it.
