To visit this island in the spring as we did is a treat for the senses. I have heard it referred to as 'windy island ' when it should be the 'island of flowers'.Lush and green with soft rolling hillsides and everywhere full of wild flowers this is not what one expects from a land known for year round sunshine. For beach lovers there are many to find with lovely white sand and azure blue sea. There are cyclists and walkers exploring at a gentle pace and the coast road along the west from Bosa sees only the occasional car and herd of goats or sheep crossing.The northern town of Castlesardo has an interesting collection of tasteful handcraft shops full of basketware and woven tableware. We visited the picturesque medieval town of Bosa to meander around the labrynth of cobbled streets in the morning and sit on the beach for the afternoon. Definately an island for the genuine traveller and explorer of culture!
