We found the people of Cavtat very friendly. there are two picturesque harbours, one had moorings for very classy yachts. Relaxing waterfront with plenty of cafe bars/resturants, beautiful by day or night, with a wide variety of fish dishes that are wonderful. The village is unspoilt with narrow streets that slope down to the harbour, fresh vegetables, fruit and lovely bread in good supply from the supermarket and couple of market stalls.
A beautiful, peaceful stress-free place.

cavtat is a great place to be based as it is extremely beautiful, a short taxi ride from the airport and you can go by boat to busy dubrovnik if you dont have a car. In August it was bustling with a good atmosphere, a local fruit market, supermarket, a cash machine and a lot of good restaurants. Its harbour must be one of the most scenic in the world and has lots of rocky promontories around cavat town to bathe off looking out to sea. Montenegro is close.

Cavtat is a beautiful small resort, very friendly and safe with excellent restaurants. There are lovely walks around the headland, with views to Dubrovnik on the dar side of the bay. The harbour has smal fishing boats and visiting yachts, enlivened by huge superyachts that intrigue everyne by the way they can manuever nto berths alongside the harbour wall. This is what St Tropez would have been like before the hordes descended.
The village has historic buildings, and lots of accomodation in the old town, based within houses that have been there for hundreds of years, hidden behind high walls to give privacy. The world stopped turning for a few minutes, and we got off in Cavtat.

This small village on the Croatian coast south of Dubrovnik is quaint, charming, and beautiful. The people are friendly and helpful. Evening strolls along the yacht-filled harbor, past al fresco cafés, bars, and restaurants are often marked by processions of worshipers from the two historical bayside churches. Kiosks and small boutiques line the narrow street, and all this activity is shaded by beautiful trees and perfumed by fragances of flowers and cooking. Along the rocky edge of the peninsula just north of the main shopping area there are tide pools and cliffs where swimmers recline on lounges overlooking the water. The tiny outdoor bar perched at the tip of the peninsula is the ideal place to watch the sunset. All in all, a truly marvelous vacation site.

small resort based round a bay where yachts and boats moor. Plenty of restaurants to suit all budgets and seaside shops selling gifts/towels etc.
tourist boats take you to dubrovnic and the many islands.
The sea is crystal clear but the coast is rocky and plastic shoes recommended to protect feet.
Mountains provide fabulous backdrop and safe walking for the adventurous with unspoilt native plants and wildlfe.
