Christchurch has something for everyone-a number of beautiful beaches where you can sunbathe in peace-swim in the wam turquoise Carribean sea or the more adventurous can try a number of watersports. The public transport is very cheap-there are plenty of good restaurants which offer a variety of food to suit even the fussiest of eaters-whether its seafood, good old Bajan cooking,Mexican,Italian,Chinese. Drinking is cheap and most restaurants/bars can offer anything from a Banks (the local beer) to the most exotic cocktails-not to mention bajan rum!
The supermarkets are very good value and you can get almost anything there-very similar to Uk supermarkets.
There are plenty of shops which sell clothes/shoes and also a number of other shops which offer locally produced gifts and for those who want something special-try Columbian Emeralds and The Diamond Centre-beautiful jewellery/watches at very good prices.

Christchurch is a beautiful part of Barbados. The beaches are wonderful, parking by the sea, toilets and shower facilities, clean and free, a very safe enviroment for our young children. Oistens fish market, was a lovely place to visit, and the bajan food was gorgeous. Throughout Christchurch there are plenty of different styles of restaurents for all, from KFC to posh restaurants. St Lawerence Gap is great for nightlife, with an array of bars, and clubs. Life is slow, and easy, and very friendly. Everyone has time for everyone.

This was our third visit to Christchurch. Changing all the time but still great value compared to the West coast. If changing money be prepared for a wait in the bank as there is always a queue. Fabulous beaches come right up to the road in places. Everybody is friendly, helpful and definately welcoming.

Christ Church is the Parish to visit if you are new to the island or not. It accomodates all ages with plenty to do in the day and at night. It's were the infamous St. Lawrence Gap is located which has a buzzing nightlife and beaches with beautiful crystal clear water and soft white sand.
