Cortes de Baza is a wonderfully laid back working town - spotlessly clean with all you need in one place - very friendly locals and free tapas in the bars!

Baza is the capital town of the Baza region of Southern Spain, which is part of the Andalusian province of Granada. The town of Baza is well situated, nestling in the mountains just half an hours drive from the coast and 107 kilometres (65 miles) from the town of Granada.

Cortes de Baza is a great place for a quiet relaxing holiday. Within half an hours drive you can be in either the busy shopping town of Baza or the Parc Natural at Castrill walking along the lake where the scenery is fantastic. If you are looking for lots of nightlife this is not the place for you, although the local bars are welcoming and friendly. If you are after authentic Spain then I would recommend Cortes de Baza.

A lovely family oriented village, with good nightlife and nice people

The villagers and tapa bars staff are very welcoming and the whole traditional spanish village way of life makes a pleasant change from the shamefully loud "British" Costa del Sol that we have usually had to put up with. The communal swimming pool is fantastic.
