Travel Guides: All Countries / Spain / Costa Tropical
The Costa Tropical sits just east of its more famous neighbour, the Costa del Sol and is considerably quieter and less crowded. It is quite different, in fact from the rest of the Costa’s and gets its name from the sub-tropical climate it receives, which allows it to grow exotic crops like mangoes and bananas.
It belongs to the province of Granada and is a popular destination of Spanish holiday-makers. There are miles of empty beaches and no typical high rise hotels here. It is the perfect place to experience a beach holiday but still including the traditional Andalusian lifestyle. Costa Tropical is one of the few unspoilt coastal areas in Spain and is defiantly one of a kind.
