Dubai Marina is very up and coming, although there is alot of constraction going on you can already see the kind of metropolis it is turning into.

Also it is neer to the begest mall Emirat mall & Iben Batuta mall where all family member can have fun. Also you can enjoy the building facility like the suimming bool & the Jem.

Nice place to visit and very family oreintated, clean, modern and beautifully decorated. Not much to do except lots of shopping and sunbathing.

For being a large city, it is very clean and safe. We could go for walks late at night and not have to worry about anything. Compared to some big cities you see in the world, there doesn't seem to be a lot of garbage in the streets. And it has a lot to offer in Dubai Marina, from shopping at the different malls near by, to the beach, to the little shops and the streets that light up and come alive late at night. It's very beautiful, modern, and eloquent.

When it is complete it will be a great destination, with its Manhattan skyline, waterfront and a busy and well-used public realm.
However, apart from the Marina Walk area it is designed for driving and pedestrians, particularly those with children in buggies, are rarely considered.

Dubai Marina can currrently best be described as a meccanno set. It is still being built. Even in what are termed no construction Zones you will be affected by construction noise and dust. Traffic to and from the Marina is constant and the road layout takes some getting used to. Once at the Marina you go from Top end Luxury to what I would consider pretty ordinary levels of comfort.
The public spaces which are completed are nice and welcoming. But can become extremely crowded and busy in the evenings with locals and tourists.
Shopping opportunities are not as convenient as one would like but will improve with the continued completion of the Marina as a whole. The main area has a good supermarket and very nice restaurants and coffee shops. But at the outer edges of the Marina the services and options can be a bit thin.
The sheer size of the Marina and the general heat and construction means that you cannot walk to all destinations in the Marina and would require a short taxi ride to and from certain locations.
A real gem is the Ibn Buttata Shopping Mall which is the next interchange from the Marina. This Mall is extremely beautiful inside and is all on one level and unilke other multilevel malls is more akin to walking down and shopping street. It is more spacious and airy than some of the other super malls in Dubai.
I have now stayed at three appartments in the Marina with my dubaistay and all have been of a high quality standard. Location is key to issues around noise and pollution, any building near the main highway will experience some issues of traffic noise. Nearby construction will add to the noise and also likely to also include additonal dust.

We had a fantastic time and this is the second time I've stayed at Horizon Towers - I've also reccommended it to my friends who will visit in October. It's a really fun place to visit and the people are so friendly and charming. Taxis are so cheap so everything is within reach. We always go as a group of girls and enjoy the shopping and the nightlife but I think it would also appeal to families and even more so in the future once Dubbai land is finished.
I'll be back next year.

Wonderful setting close to shopping and resturants. A great facility to recover from jet lag before business or recreation activities. Friendly, helpful staff on duty 24hrs to attend your every need.
Review by Jane Morgan from Berkshire UK
Dubai Marina is a very attractive spot with lots of cafes and restaurants to choose from and the environment is very clean and attractive. It's nice to sit outside and eat and watch the activity around the Marina. There are not a huge number of shops that I could see, but the local Spinneys supermarket is very useful. It's a very attractive area and when all the surrounding area is finished I think it will be one of the sought after areas to stay in Dubai.
Review by Jonathan Capper from Dublin
I wonder how the raod infrastructure will cope when all the construction is completed and occupancy rats are significantly higher. Where will people be able to park if they want to visit anyother person in their apartment.
It is an awe inspiring site, all these high rise buildings. Let us hope that they are as fun to live in.
Review by Lara Wood from Weymouth, Dorset, UK
Dubai Marina will be lovely - when it is finished. a lot of building work still going on in the area 24/7.
Review by Leah Louise Blanchet from Calgary, Alberta, Canada
With all the construction going on in Dubai, especially around the Marina area I found that there was a lot of dust or pollution in the air in and around the streets and buildings. I must say that I felt very safe in the area when walking to the beach.
Review by Paul Le Sueur from Abu Dhabi
For large families or a group of friends, this place was perfect. It had everything we required with a touch of class. Parking, access and location were all favorable.
Review by Maha Al-Mansoury from Dhahran
Taxis in the Marina area are readily available which makes it easy for us to move around.

id love to buy an apartment here!
Review by Beauner Chesluk from London
As of January 2008, I don't know how much time you'd want to spend in Dubai Marina. Not that there is anything at all wrong with it, it's all fine. But ultimately it's a collection of hotels and apartments, with facilities to support these. Not really a reason to visit unless you're staying there. Of course, if you like boating, there are more boats than soft mick here.
The issue may be that the magical elements of Dubai Marina are "coming soon", as much like the rest of Dubai, the area is under heavy construction. We took a walk around the Marina and before you know it you might be walking through a construction site. Kind of like an adventure as you get to peek around the odd pockets of retail that have settled in, as well as attempting to cross the river on a mudbank (while they finish off building the bridge), but you're left with the feeling that eventually more shops and facilities will come in to develop the marina ecosystem.
Accessing and leaving the marina is done through the Dubai highway system, there's a dhs4 toll as you head into town towards the malls, which your taxi driver will charge you for as an extra. The area is quite new so some drivers don't know where all the buildings are, you'll do well to study a map just in case.
If you're staying in the Marina, think of it like your little village. But now, it's not yet worth visiting on it's own merits unless you're really passing through the area or meeting someone there. In this case I can recommend Inferno Grill for a nice meal. Enjoy.

Dubai marina is a developing area of dubai, a factor which many people forget when booking and on arrival are shocked by what is happening there and the amount of noise there is. I for one look past that and am simply amazed by how much it has developed in the past 2 years, and have no doubt it 2 more years or so it will be the area to go to stay once in Dubai. The mall of the emirates is 10 minutes away (£4 cab ride), Jumeriah Beach is minutes away via walking and the lovely marina walk is 20 minutes by walk (which is very interesting as you get to see the completed and under construction areas close up). Having stayed all over Dubai ive stayed in the Marina for the past 3 visits, a choice which i do not regret whatsoever.

When finished this area will be amazing.

Dubai Marina had everything you need. The well stocked supermarket was very handy. There are plenty of restaurants which would suit all tastes and age groups. Although quite a distance from the city centre of Dubai there are always taxis available and they are reasonably priced. Dubai Marina is only a short taxi ride from shopping malls and the beach as well as other tourist attractions. If you are flying into Abu Dhabi airport Dubai Marina is a great place to stay because you are on the outskirts of Dubai and it is on the Abu Dhabi side of Dubai.

Fantastic base from which to enjoy Dubai. The Marina is very ambient and relaxed. Great resturants with a good family atmosphere. Lovely fountains and scenery. Extremely well layed out. Great supermarket 'Spinneys' stocking just about everything you can think of from Bacon to bread machines. All prices cheaper than the UK!! Taxis always available. Great place to stay whether a family or young singles, something for everyone, you can't fail to enjoy a stay here!
Review by Mo Jackson from Plymouth UK
Enjoyed walking through the market. Pleasant to just sit and watch the world stroll by.
Good choice of restaurants.
Review by IMRAN CHAUDRY from BIRMINGHAM
The Marina is still a construction site as is most of Dubai, but still worthy of staying there as is destined to be one of the prime areas within Dubai.

the apartment was exactly what I was looking for. there are two things I would recommend that are easy to add on. first the washer dryer does not have directions, and it took forever to figure out how to use it. Secondly I would recommend that cleaning of the property be done more then once every three days. Because the apartment get cleaned on the fouth day , and we all know you will run out of towels and so on. I know this is a business but trust me being in managment for years, I can tell you adding cleaning at least every second day will move your property from good to great.
Review by Rosemarie Bennett from Swindon
Although a lot of building work is going on, nothing stopped my family from having a great time.Good weather, excellent food, great staff at resort. Central Perk was an added bonus, also the shops close by,the great choice of restaurant on the Marina, something to suit everyones taste, nothing was too much trouble. DUBAI MARINA is a GREAT holiday location, we'll be back. Thank

Dubai Marina - The Marina Walk area contains a good selection of eating places and a handy supermarket for those self catering, the prices are reasonable and on an evening has a great atmosphere with many locals using the area as well, Air conditioned inside and plenty of out door seating areas as well, The fantastic Beach is only a short distance from the Marina, It is worh pointing out that there is a lot of new building and construction work going on in the Marina and around about the area which may spoil it for some, however this will not always be the case and it really is a stunning development and one which i would recomend visiting and staying in. Really friendly people and high quality, I think its great.
Review by Jacqui Nocton from Tunbridge Wells
Dubai Marina is still in the early stages of development and I am sure once all the building works are finished it will be quite something. It is easy however to get to other parts of Dubai by taxi and not expensive. The Horizon Tower where we stayed was very very noisy on the front rooms due to being on the main road.
Review by Jennifer Velasco from Atlanta, GA
I can't wait to go back to Dubai Marina in 2 years. The construction is EVERYWHERE (in the marina as well as Dubai proper), which is exciting as it represents growth and devolpment. The parts of the Marina Walk that are complete are quite nice, yet it will be quite amazing once it is finished. Definately looking forward to returning!
