Esposende - good suppermarkets and shops.
Fun to watch the kite surfers weaving in and out in the bay area.
Restaurants - lots of restaruants but we were rather put-off a lot of them by the lack of English spoken or shown on the menus.
We only found one internet cafe' - by the bank so keeping in contact, if you are used to or need web access, can be challenging.

It was a great spot for a family vacation with beaches close by - we'd recommend Amorosa for the children - ours are 6 & 8 - and lots of opportunities to play on and in the river itself. Though our youngest can't really swim yet, the river was very shallow near the house by the weir so fine for paddling in with the local children. Our stay in August coincided with lots of local festivals so there was never a shortage of places to visits and special events to see.
