Travel Guides: All Countries / Spain / Costa Tropical - Granada / Granada Prov
Local culture... This place may feel a world away from the bustling coasts, but that is not to say they are out of reach. Just a 35 minute drive away you can reach the beautiful, Costa Tropical, Granada’s very own Costa. This coast is a lot quieter than neighbouring Costa del Sol, but still has the same facilities and less of the crowds. This is a relatively unknown Costa which makes it a great place to relax on the unspoilt beaches. Also the closer you get to the coast, the more golf courses you will find.
The region is perfect for all kinds of outdoor activities including cycling, horse riding, and hiking and for the more adventurous paragliding. If you plan to visit in the winter months, you can also enjoy some top class skiing at the Sierra Nevada ski resort.
The province of Granada is the perfect place to sample some real Andalusian cuisine. A speciality of the region is Gazpacho, a chilled tomato soup, which is delicious on a hot summer’s day. Because of the thriving agriculture in Olives and Grapes, you will find that olive oils are a popular ingredient and most meals are washed down with the local wines.
