During your visit to Granada Prov you must see...
Here in the province, you have pretty much everything. You are never to far from the coast, the mountains are a short drive, and there are some excellent towns and cities to visit. You have the best of all worlds here.
The most important visit to be made is to the capital of the province, Granada. This is one of the most beautiful and historic cities in all of Spain and is home to the mighty Moorish palace, The Alhambra. The palace is a must see, and is one of the best Islamic architectural sites in all of Europe, and quite possibly in the world. It’ll take a good day to explore the whole of the palace, including the impeccably well kept gardens. You can also find some spectacular views across the city from here.
For a day out in the open air, one must visit the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. This vast park was declared Preserve of the Biosphere by UNESCO and is a treat for anyone with an interest in the Natural world or who just appreciates spectacular views. Here you can find 2000 different species of Flora alone.
Another, more unusual day out is to the ancient Moorish town of Guadix. What makes this town stand out is the fact that it is an entire settlement of cave homes. And what makes them doubly interesting is that they are still inhabited by 10’000 residents!
