Hisaronu was a lovely place, I thought the lack of a beach would both me but with a 5 minute bus ride to Olu Deniz which was itself beautiful, who could complain. There was so much to do, so many trips and things to see. The Turkish lads in the bars were so friendly and great with our son and other children. The food and drinks were cheaper than back home so a bonus, £1.75 for a pint of Efe's and approx £8 for a fillet steak so good value. There were bars/restaurants for everyone, loud and lively for the younger ones, family orientated bars, contempory bars, something for everyone. Loads of shops and although everyone was selling their wares, they did not hassle you in the slightest. This was one of the best resorts I've been to, give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Hisaronu is perfect for the family. The town is lively and has lots of excellent eating places. The children enjoyed it with activities from karting to paragliding. A few hours away was the chance to go white water reafting!! This is not to be missed. Paragliding was fun and that from someone who is terrified of heights. Am looking to book for next year already!!

Very friendly locals. Good places to eat, but a bit slow with the service. Plenty of shops for villa/ self catering owners. Clean and tidy. good taxi services from the Yellow taxi's. Main town has plenty to offer.

Hisoronu was rather tourist focused with little cultural feel a bit like Blackpool! lots of locals touting for business, however not hassling you, they were pleasant and friendly- Away from the centre you are very much into Turkish culture and a different feel - seek out the beaches that the local Turks use - they are by far the best.

I am ( or wasn't) one for going to the same place on two consecutive holidays. This has been my fifth visit in a row !
When I took my partner who has travelled the world, she too was hooked and we have just introduced her son, daughter, son-in law and grandchildren. All want to go back.
Hisaronu has it all and convenienc to some of the most spectacular mountain scenery, historical locations and loveley beaches. Because it is approx. 1000ft above sea level, the air is fresh and clean.
Large number of excellent restaurants.
Friendly unobtrusive Police on regular patrol making it a safe and virtually trouble free environment.

Hisaronou and Ovacik run into one another.  It is typical of Turkey in that the areas that are built upon are generally well maintained and clean but the areas that arent are left over-grown.  The pavements and roads are a bit hit and miss.  Overall though it is my opinion that the area is magical.  It is unbelievable that a little hill village has developed into a lively, friendly town with lots of places to stay, eat and drink and is only a short distance to the beach by dolmus.  The drinks were slightly cheaper in Hisaronou than Olu Deniz, but Olu Deniz is a beautiful bay and shouldnt be missed.
The whole area has a laid-back feel, but there are lots of activities to do in the area such as boat trips, jeep safaries, quad safaries etc., microlight and paragliding as well as visiting historical sites,  and it is easy to see why people return year after year.

A lively, vibrant, purpose built resort.
The locals are very friendly and like to lure you into "bartering banter" but are not so overpowering that you feel harassed. This is a place where you feel safe to walk alone day or night.
Hisaronu is a place where people return....

Hisaranou is an ideal holiday destination for all ages. It is great as a base to explore the beaches of Olu Deniz and Calis and the pretty harbour town of Fethiye. Public Transport is frequent and cheap and the locals are very friendly and helpful. Although Hisaranou has expanded over the years, there are strict building regulations which protect areas of outstanding natural beauty from property developers. Buildings can also be no taller than 3 floors high which will ensure Hisaranou never becomes another marmaris or Bodrum. The town has lots to offer (a funfair being a new addition off the main street) for those seeking a family holiday to those wanting to sunbathe all day and party all night. EL Nino is a wonderful restaurant where Ali and Yilmas make you feel most welcome. Theyhave a childrens' playground and swimming pool adjacent to the restaurant, for the use of its customers but you can't see this from the road.

Stunning setting with amazing beach at Olu Deniz. Lots of shops and restaurants without the maddening crowds of bigger turkish resorts, like mamaris, bodrum or Kusadasi. Very laid back atmosphere and felt very safe for children with loads to do and see.

Hisaronu, for me is a home from home. My return this year was very different as I returned with my toddler son. Having visited 9 times before as a single person, used to drinking and partying all night and relaxing by the pool and dozing by day, I did not struggle to find different ways to be entertained. The transformation of the village was impressive, and still so many friendly and familiar faces. The international cuisine choice was fabulous.
The local people are so friendly and helpful, offering advice and suggestions on places to visit and eat. The access is so much better, and the new road in the village made travelling with a pushchair so easy.
The small fayre with rides is an excellent idea, and ideal treat for younger children. The beach at sunset, with the para sailing view in the sky had my son smiling for hours.
There is the opportunity to experience so many different things here, that planning your time to fit it all in is a must.

Hisaronu is a fantastic place to stay, been there 3 times now and it is just like going home. People are so freindly and welcoming, made lots of Turkish friends who we still keep in touch with since first visit.Nightlife is brilliant, best bars are Churchills especially Mehmet, Big Break and Attika but still loads more besides. Lovely food Daphnes, Malibu, El Nino are all great value for money and great food too! Hisaronu as a whole is a great place to visit whether you are 3 or 83 there is plenty to do for everyone. Olu Deniz is only a short Dolmus ride away where there is a great beach and lovely restaurants and also Fethiye is again a short Dolmus ride away and the Market is worth a look also by the Harbour there is a great outdoor Gym which in fact is a childrens playground it may have been over 100 degrees but still worth a go!!!!! Loads of excusions to choose from in Hisaronu very resonably priced, from Paragliding to swimming with Dolphins or even a relaxing Boat Tour.
All in all Hisaronu is a must for anyone looking for a fantastic holiday for which you can make it as lively or relaxing as you want. Once youve been there you WILL want to go back!!!!

This was my first visit to Turkey and I brought my daughters 15 and 17 years old. We stayed in Hisaronu and had a fabulous time, the food was delicious and such a variety of restaurants to go to -the waiters were courteous, polite and flirtatous but also respectful. Shopping was also great with lots of bargains to be had. We had a lovely day out on a boat trip, visited the Blue Lagoon at Olydeniz, walked to the Ghost Village and had a trip up into the Mountains to Seki. Turkey is a very beautiful country and the people are very friendly. I would definitely come again and recommend it to my friends. My daughters would also like to come back.

Hisaronu is lively, with good restaurants, shops and nightlife for those who want it! The people are very friendly and welcoming, you feel very safe walking around and the town has something for everyone of all ages.
Review by kim & GARY SHATTOCK from SWANSEA SOUTH WALES
The roads in the town and main roads towards beaches are fine. All side roads leading to Villas and Hotels are terrible and are hardly lit at night. This is our only complaint .We really enjoyed our holiday ,and already thinking about returning next year.

This is the second time I have visited Hisaronu and my view hasn't changed. First time was about 8 years ago. As it is an inland (ex) village , to me it lacks focus and seems to be overdeveloped, sprawling and as a consequence quite unattractive. There are far too many "chinese/indian/thai" restaurants for my liking and a horrible funfair!. I imagine in the high season it is hellish. There also seems to be massive villa/ apartment development going on - some's OK some's quite ugly. On the plus side it has a reasonablr supermarket -Migros - although it seemed very expensive in comparison with previous visits to Turkey ( about 10 in total) The pharmacist was very helpful, the taxis good and were actually much better value than the dolmuses ( 5 of us travelling) which is a first for me. Cost of dolmus from Ovacik to Olu Deniz or Hisaronu was about 1.50 each way which has doubled since last visit to Turkey in 2004. If going out in the evening I would avoid Hisaronu and would head in the opposite direction to Fethiye or go down to Olu Deniz - which are both fantastic places. Sorry Hisaronu but you don't do it for me!!
Review by Sarah Bond from Surrey
Hisaronu is not really for us - it is too English and we come to Turkey to get away from English pounds and fish and chips! Oludeniz was much better suited to us and Fethiye which retains a much more turkish feel.
Review by LESLEY, ROB , LAINE AND FRANKIE VINEY from LIVERPOOL
We loved everything about it, the friendliness and helpfulness of the people, nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed our time in Hillcrest/Hisaronu so much we are returing to the same place next year, and have recommended it to other friends/family who have decided to join us as well! Fantastic!

Hisaronu is a resort that has grown over the years from a sleepy village to a resort that has everything for a family holiday
There is an abundavce of restaurants, shops and bars to suit everyones taste but not an overbusy resort
If you want the music bars and the Sky football its there for you
If its a relaxing meal and quiet drink then the resort also caters for you
If you have children its very child friendly and safe as after 7pm at night the main street to all bars, restaurants and shops is closed to ant traffic and you can let the kids walk free with no traffic worries
Oveall the resort has something for everyones taste, its good value, friendly and very clean
It ticked all my boxes for a holiday resort that caters for everyones needs

 | | Destination Guide : Hisaronu |
|
| | | Mountains, forests and fresh air | | Why go on holiday to Hisaronu? This mountain resort is about four kilometres from a beach but a dolmus (minibus) goes frequently to nearby Olu Deniz, the Mediterranean resort it overlooks that's famous for its turquoise lagoon. Hisaronu offers shady walks through pine forests, plenty of fresh air and restaurants serving up familiar "home from home" English dishes for the many British holidaymakers who go there. The village is centred around one main street.
How much will it cost? From about £370 for a week's B&B in low season in three-star accommmodation. Return flights to Dalaman cost around £180 but can be much cheaper in the quiet months.
When should I go? If you want a tranquil beach holiday, August may not be the best time to go. Temperatures soar to 33C/90F on the coast and the package holiday crowds are at their peak.
The weather can be fine in May, June and October (26C/77F) and the cost is considerably less.
Who's it for? Hisaronu is a mountain resort and not all accommodation may be suitable for people with walking difficulties, so it's wise to check first with a tour operator or agent. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and gift shops for holidaymakers of all ages. At night the small resort livens up considerably, and young people hit the clubs. The nearest beaches are at Olu Deniz and Belcekiz.
What are the must-sees? The beautiful Kidrak Forest Park is 2km from the town. Excursion boats, operating though the summer, can help you explore the coastline. They charge around £8 for a day trip, including lunch.
Excursions tend to take in Gemile Beach, the Blue Cave and St Nicholas Island.
Another great day trip stop is Butterfly Valley, the home of the unique Jersey tiger butterfly.
If you want to stay longer in the valley, spend the night on a treehouse platform for about £2.50 a head — not to be advised in the cooler months, or for lone female travellers.
Near to Hisaronu is the deserted village of Kayakoy, which has some 3,000 uninhabited houses once lived in by Greeks. It is another unmissable sight.
What will I spend? Prices vary greatly but as a rough guide, expect to pay: moderate restaurant meal £10 with wine; bottle of beer £1; 24-exposure camera film £2.50; four-mile taxi ride £6.15.
