Postira is a charming and picturesque small port/harbour on Brac.
It is blessed with everything one could wish for to make a holiday relaxing, interesting and enjoyable.
All shopping facilities are central, including a small supermarket and an excellent bakery.
It has its own very helpful Tourist Office, regular and reliable bus service, and good taxi service.
As on most of Brac, walking around the coast on well defined paths close to the sea is a delight. The way is frequently part shaded by trees that come down close to the water's edge, and there are numerous bays and rock outcrops for sunbathing and swimming. Indeed, in many bays, free provision has been made for changing, swimming and sunbathing - and the sea water everywhere is so clean and clear!
It really is worth the time and effort of getting to the Island - and we had brilliant weather in September.
Review by Ann Bentley from Birmingham
The island of Brac is, essentially a small mountain range on an island. There are no "main roads", but to get anywhere involves traveling along bending mountain roads. The rugged coastline, formed at the foot of the mountains is in places breathtakingly beautiful, though sometimes frustrating as the most beautiful places are really only accessible by boat.
There are lots of small pebble beaches accessible by road, and a couple of small sandy beaches - though these take some finding! The biggest tourist attraction on Brac - the beach at Bol is spectacular but in August was incredibly crowded, whereas the other beaches we visited were much quieter.
The town of Milna where we stayed is a bit like Dartmouth in Devon, a small but bustling harbour, where many yachts moored each night, but also with an active fishing fleet, which gave it more interest as a working town.
