We found the area of Lewis quite remote, having travelled up from stays in both Barra and North Uist. However, once settled in, we soon became familiar with the way of life there and met some very nice people during our travels. One does have to do quite a bit of motoring to enjoy the islands and discover all their beautiful facilities. We were, however, very lucky with the weather as we had glorious sunshine all week in Lewis. Had the weather been poor, it would have been a very different matter.

The Isle of Lewis is a special place - full of contrasts and variety with an unspoilt beauty that is very rare.
