Kastelli, as yet remains relatively untouched by the commercial tourism endemic further to the East. You can still find a working Greek town here that doesnt shut down in winter, has all amenities, and above all retains its personality and charm. The locals are friendly , and every service performed retains a personal touch. Kastelli itself, although in architecture is like any other modern Greek town, is located in an area of outstanding beauty, along a coast of naturall ruggedness, whilst still accessible to beautiful safe beaches. Along the seafront are a selection of traditional and modern restaurants.
Two minutes inland will find you in mountanous areas of olive groves, and stunning scenery which would melt any heart.
If you want the tranquility and beauty of tuscany at half the cost ( plus the bonus of beaches) this area gives it a run for its money.
