Travel Reviews : La Azohia

Review by Hazel Domakin from Oldham

La Azohia is quiet resort, convenient for surrounding areas, not a spolied as some.

Review by member Witham from Stockport, United Kingdom

La Azohia is a very spanish resort - you wont find many English tourists here which adds to its authentic charm. The beach is beautiful and perfect for young families.

Review by Carol young from Newcastle

Like stepping back in time! La Azohia is as Spain was before being hit by tourism on mass!!! Excellent quiet tranquil, very pleasant.

Review by JOHN PEMBERTON from LEEK,STAFFS

La Azohia is a relatively small resort that lies at the foot of the surrounding mountains. The resort which occupies a large sweeping bay is quiet and relaxing but has a large area of beach space and the sea shelves quite gently so it is safe for children. There are good restaurants in the resort and although their menus are not extensive, they do offer lots of fresh fish to choose from. La Azohia has few shops and no large supermarket but these can be found around 15 minutes drive away at Mazarron where there are also banks, restaurants etc. La Azohia is not for those who expect lots of activities and night life but if you want to relax and let life pass you by for a week or two then this is just the place.

Review by Diane France from Lancaster

Some of the restaurants were a little overpriced but that was the only negative comment about La Azohia that we have. Perfect in all other aspects!!!

Review by Yvonne Bell from Fife

scenic area, mountains to the back, beach and sea to the front of the aparatments, great views from the roof tops of the apartments. Lots of places to go and discovery, very central for anyone that wants to tour Murcia region. Great for walking and cycling holidays of season.

Review by Tom Nikolajsen from Helsingor, Denmark

Wonderfull place, short to beach, fantastic view, lovely people, great restaurants,

lovely weather, small towns, friendly for children, a lot to see, a very quiet place. We love the people and food, so we come back to this place another time...

Best regards from

Malou (10), Anette and Tom from Denmark

Review by Anne Oliver from Warton

La Azohia is the perfect place for people who want lovely scenery, safe beaches and in the season boat trips and boat related activities including diving. This is not for youngsters looking for discos and wild nightlife. We have returned time and time again to the beaches and the sunsets are stunning.

Review by Andrea Davies from Thornton

If you're looking for real Spain (as opposed to Brits abroad) then La Azohia is the place for you. It's a quaint seaside town, with a handful of spanish restaurants, where you can actually get spanish food (no burgers and chips). Take your phrase book, as the locals don't speak much English, but this is the best way to learn

Review by MICHAEL SANDISON from CLEVEDON

We have been visiting La Azohia for many years now, out of the main season. It is typically Spanish and during the Winter months very quiet. It will not suit those who want plenty of night life and Blackpool type entertainment. But for those who want a stroll along quiet passeos to the jetty where fishermen set out their nets and go fishing for tuna most mornings, it will appeal. There are a few cafes and restaurants and plenty of good walking to give you an appetite for tapas with coffee, beer or a glass of wine. The views back across the bay to Puerto Mazarron are stunning especially from the Torre. The area is well known for scuba diving as the water is clear, but again in the Winter months not all facilities are open.

Review by robert geel from javea

Even the unspoiled setting of La Azohia and Isla Plana is becoming a building scene, which is unfortunately not unusual along all the spanisch Costas anymore.

Review by Karen SHEPHERD from Newport

The resort of La Azohia is a real gem as it's unspoilt but still has facilities and a real friendly feel. It's a very safe environment and just the most wonderful mountain scenery right down to the beachside. The nearby resort of Puerte Mazarron has an upmarket feel on the waterfront but the local restaurants provide the most excellent value for money menu del dias. You can dine for a king on ten euros!

Review by judy jones from swansea

Everything was v.quiet on 17th Nov week - which suited us. The weather was good for walking in the local mountains although we did get completely drenched on one afternoon. Excellent value Menu of the Day.

Local scenery rather marred by acres of plastic covered greenhouses.

Review by Karen Shepherd from Newport

La Azohia is a real gem, unspolit but with all the facilities you could need for a relaxing or an action packed holiday. The scenic beauty is there for all to enjoy with plenty of scope for land and water sports. Great restaurants and bars locally and in the nearby resorts of Isla Plana and Mazarron, even through the winter months and great shopping on the doorstep too! With the aid of a car you have some fantastic places to discover, from the wilds of the Sierra D'Espuna to the lovely city centre and naval port of Cartagena.

Review by Elisabeth Vad Soerensen Soerensen from Denmark

Dear June Barclay I am happy to tell you, that we enjoyed every second of our stay at La Azohia. It is at wonderful appartment in wonderful surroundings. The appartment is perfectly equipped with everything you might need. We enjoyed the nights on the roof terrace. Kind regards Soeren Vad, Denmark (I hope, you can spell your way through my lousy English)
