Travel Reviews : La Cala de Mijas

Review by alf crabb from hull

We found La Cala to be a lovely Spanish resort, quit, friendly, with a large number of excellant restaurants. After an evening meal a number of bars cater for those wishing to have a quiet and friendly drink.

Review by Kirsty Cubberley Lobb from London

La Cala de Mijas is a perfect place for a family holiday if you want, sand, sea, easy food, heat, lively bars, children's play areas, beach bars and a 'no stress -fun for all' holiday. Bull fighting, horse riding, water parks, theme parks and upmarket shopping are available in the surrounding areas of Marbella, Fuengirola, and Mijas all easily available by the road and bus system. But there lies the problem if you are looking for authentic spain, peace and tranquility, you may have to look further inland. Angliophilia is everywhere and consumerisation of the Costa del Sol is pretty universal. We holidayed in a party of four families and we found all that we needed, even winkling our a few spanish restaurants, so for us, it was perfect - all ages and tastes catered for. The two weeks flew by.

La Cala is a lovely sea side village with one of the best beaches in the area. There are a huge selection of bars and restaurants from budget to the 5 star.

Easy access to public transport to get into the major towns of Fuengirola and Marbella.

Review by Joyce Beighton from Rotherham, England

La Cala de Mijas is a wonderful small town just a few miles past Fuengorola. It offers a great selection of restaurants and a variety of shops to browse around. We have been holidaying in La Cala for several years and never tire of it's relaxing lifestyle, despite the fact that the N340 which runs straight by the town is always alive with traffic. The beach is pretty with places to eat, have a drink and watch the world go by.

Review by derek winsall from croydon

La Cala is a beach front town with a very good beach and beach bars and is only a 10 minute walk from the studio. The town has numerous shops, banks and a supermarket it is also full of friendly bars and restaurants for all tastes which come alive at night.
