The area of Mar Menor offers the opportunity to tailor your holiday to how you want to spend your time. You can just relax and sunbathe and eat in some really nice restaurants. If you prefer a holiday with activities, there are plenty to choose from, golfing, swimming, horse riding, sailing, walking. You don't even have to pay a fortune for a mud bath treatment! It's completely free at Lo Pagan. Brilliant fun to be had in this area without breaking the bank balance!

A relaxing holiday, none of the brashness you sometimes find associated with Spain. A lovely quiet area that we all felt very safe in. Great beaches, wonderful views. Why go anywhere else? this has the ingredients for a perfect holiday.

Residence in small quiet sleeping town. Not far to go to crowded tourist areas. Very nice having both privacy and all sorts of living fun readily available.

La Manga is going through a transistion period at the moment and does have a lot to offer.
It's a reasonably quiet place in low season but is still far away from completion.
I suppose that's what La Manga's charm is though compared to touristy Benidorm.

Parts of the Strip are better than others, the beginning and latter ends do smell quite a lot, (sewage?)
We understand that Graffiti is not frowned upon?????. Be aware that at the weekends the Spanish invade the Strip, but hey, it's their country!! the point being be aware that bars and restaurants and beaches can be very crowded then. Its not unusual to see the Spanish on the beaches till dusk!! and scores of people and young children on the streets untill the early hours. It seems to be quite a safe place to be at night with no sign of trouble or drunkenness at all. Very few English people around, the Spanish were not as freindly as in other parts we have visited, perhaps they are not used to us yet, but we didn't go there to be amoung the British!! Many Shops and bars do not converse in English so you need to be able to order a drink at least. Do not miss out on Thomas Maestra a bit more upmarket, not a lot there apart from the Marina but with many good Restaurants. Beaches are kept very clean, sieved for rubbish every couple of days. Sea is very warm, but temperatures are very high and almost unbearable in the 2 weeks we visited in July. All in all a nice place to be but we probably wouldn't go there again.
