IT WAS AMAZING
Review by Michael Gravelle from Dorchester
Los Alcazares is a small resort and the main drawback for us was a lack of choice of Spanish restuarants. There are a couple but not on the main pedestrian street, which is itself quite small.
The beach and sea (Mar Menor) are ideal for families as they are very safe and the sea is so warm. They do get a bit crowded (in the 2 metre strip along the sea edge which seems to be were all the spanish crowd) but there is still plenty of space for children to dig sandcastles.
Local attractions include Terra Natura at Murcia, which is a small safari park and water park in one (only need half a day for the safari park but you get to feed giraffes which our children thought was fantastic) and the water park is small but has something for all ages), Cartegena which is an interesting port town with Roman remains. Murcia is okay but not much to see apart from the catherdral.
The main attraction for the resort is definately the beach and sea for a quiet family holiday.
Also, if you fly to Murcia airport it is just 10 minutes away but the plane noise is not intrusive. Otherwise Alicante airport is an easy hours drive down the motorway.

I like Los Alcazares because it doesn't have the feel of a main tourist area, yet it has all the amenities. Being largely residential helps with this. I hope it doesn't become too popular and get spoiled!

Lovely spacious apartment on a quiet, well maintained complex. Perfect for families looking for a relaxing value for money holiday. Lovely beaches and a good selection of restaurants and easy access to nearby places of interest and airport.

We have visited Murcia many times before so were familiar with the surroundings. The cycle track was a welcome addition. From the moment Sean collected us from the airport until he dropped us at the end, the whole holiday was what we wanted, a relaxed, warm, friendly time. The restaurants are varied and we again visited most of them. It was an added bonus to be in Murcia over Easter as the streets of Los Alcazares were full of street stalls of some quiet unusual items for sale. This we enjoyed walking around and looking at them. We hired bikes again so were able to cover some ground looking at the local beauty spots. We will definitely be visiting again.

Los Alcazares has a lovely beach with bars and even toilets ,lots of places to eat and drink for a reasonable cost ,only 5 mins from the airport and if you have a car you are very well situated to tour the area and there's a lot of lovely places to see,Los Alcarares is as good as it gets .
