Annual events in Manilva...
Manilva is quite the festival town. The first carnival is held in February finishing on the last day of the month. In July there is a festival honouring the patron saint the Virgin del Carmen which takes place at the Castillo de Sabinillas. The San Luis de Sabinillas takes place in August where and effigy of the Saint is paraded through the town in a procession. Straight after this festival, another one begins, The Grape Harvest. Various events such as horse racing and competitions take place and there is a special mass and procession honouring the Virgin del Dolores. This is also the time when the traditional stamping of the grapes takes place and you get to sample the first wine of the season.
