We visited Martina Franca one evening of our holiday. We parked the car with some difficulty but it didn't take long to find a space close to the main centre. We browsed through shop windows admired the well-dressed Italians and families and friends enjoying conversation and a slow walk. We visited the Basilica of Saint Martin very impressive. We then enjoyed a pizza at Due Angeli - fantastic service we were greeted by a glass of Pro-secco sparkling wine on the house and sliced Italian cucumber which was most refreshing. Restaurant needs to adopt no smoking policy - we may have ordered desserts had it not been for a smoker who lit up with no regard. Martina Franca felt safe, lively and friendly a very beautiful town.
