Our Villa was set in the most fantastic spot...overlooking a forest...half up a mountain...every morning was a joy...every evening you were treat to the most fantastic sunset...glass of wine ...olives, bread, balsamic and olive oil with freshly picked tomatoes...as it should be. The pool was superb...weather fantastic...Villa finished to such a high standard...could have stayed longer..surrounding area unbelieveably breathtaking...Alpi Apuane...Lucca, Pisa, Florence...names you have read about and dreamed of seeing....all within easy reach...think I have dreamt it all then realise, with a smile, that we were actually there and experienced all the wonderful sights, smells and tastes of beautiful Toscana! The Massa Carrera area is very scenic with the fantastic Carrera mountains on the edge of the sea. The walled city of Lucca in my opinion equals Florence in it's beauty...and it's prices! There are some beautiful hilltop villages dotted around which make for some hair raising driving. The villa was so lovely we missed out on a fantastic area to visit called CinqaTerre (please excuse any spelling mistakes!), so we are planning to visit again but hopefully for longer. A truly beautiful part of Italy.
