relaxing, peaceful, and quiet

Mazarron and its surrounding area remind me of the scenic variety of North Wales but HOT, with mountains reaching the sea, long sandy and uncrowded beaches, rocky bays and inlets and a sense of calm and space.
The Port of Mazarron has numerous beaches with a wonderful backdrop of rocky headlands and mountains. Its two harbours allow for a stroll full of wishful thinking as you gaze at the variety of craft.
Mazarron has a slow pace, with beach bars and restaurants, you will find more Spanish holidaymakers rather than foreign and no clubs or boisterous “pubs”.
It’s a place to wind down and take it as it comes. If you want the hustle and bustle of La Manga then go there not Mazarron.
Drive up and leave the car at Totana or Alhama de Murcia and visit the city of Murcia, of go further inland to the national park of Sierra Espuna.
Cartagena offers a seaside port and city with substantial Roman remains.
Further south, be adventurous off road and get to some of the out of the way beaches and coves, or visit the local markets, villages and towns.
History or Sun, getting away from it or touring, it’s there for you to choose.

We found Mazarron & surrounding areas fantastic overall. There were historic sites within easy reach (including some beautiful drives to reach them) and the beaches were lovely. There are plenty of restaurants from cheap to expensive & none of them disappointed us at all. We stayed here for 10 days and found it a perfect location for exploring the Murcia province & was busy enough to be full of life, but without being too packed full of tourists!
