Getting there Check out Jet Airlines, Montenegro Airlines and British Airways. The first direct charter flights from Manchester and Gatwick fly to Tivat from May 2006.
Flying time from London Flights typically go to Dubrovnik, Croatia, two hours from London. It's two hours 40 mins to Tivat near Belgrade.
Getting around Trains are cheaper than buses but slower and some carriages are in bad condition. If you want to travel along the Montenegrin coast, you'll have to catch a bus. Taxis and car hire are available in all major towns and tourist spots. But be aware that driving can be challenging on mountainous roads with hairpin bends.
Currency The euro
Costs Prices vary but expect to pay roughly: can of beer 1.54 euros; moderate restaurant meal £8-£10; roll of camera film £1; four-mile taxi ride £2-£4.
Weather Expect dry summers when temperatures can climb to 30C and the sun shines up to 12 hours a day. Typical coastal temperatures hover around 23C-26C. Winters are mild and sunny although the mountains behind the coast can get rainy.

Opening hours Banks are open weekdays from 8am-7pm and from 8am-3pm on Saturdays. Shops open daily from 6am-9pm, including Saturdays but open half days on Sundays.
Health - Before you go Tetanus, polio and hepatitis A vaccinations are advisable. Check with your GP for the latest advice.
Health - When you are there There is a reciprocal healthcare arrangement for British nationals, which entitles you to free emergency treatment. The tap water is treated in urban areas but this may not be the case in rural areas. Take precautions.
Warnings Possession or trafficking of drugs is treated seriously. There are strict penalties and severe sentences.
