We stayed at Tolo. A good position for visiting many of the ancient sites of Greece, including Mycenea, Tyrenes, Athens, Epidauros, Corinth, and Delphi and Olympia with a little more travelling. Beach at Tolo was acceptable but not large. Beautiful sea, clear and warm, and great for children with gently shelving depth. Water sports available but not pushed at you. Great tavernas including being able to eat on the beach within a metre or two of the sea as there is no tide. Plenty of shops with a wide range of goods to buy. Wonderful ice creams! Easy to go to Nafplio by local transport. Excursions to the sites easily arranged through tour agencies in Tolo, or you can book a taxi, or use local buses, but these only run a few times a day to some places.
