Nerja escaped the mass of high rise hotels so typical on coastal towns and kept its traditional cobbled streets and whitewashed houses which make it so attractive to the visitors. The local village of Frigiliana is too, a favourite day out. This is arguably one of the prettiest towns in Andalusia and is full of great little restaurants and small bars.
Nerja boasts 16km of excellent beach, and so many will find themselves spending most of their time there. And rightly so, as they are some of the best on the Coast. As you would expect from a tourist town restaurants and bars are in abundance and so there should be no trouble in finding your favourite. Nerja’s speciality dishes are De La Doncella (Red Mullet) and pescaito frito (fried fish).
