We enjoyed the area around Palafrrugell very much. The coastline is very pretty with rugged coves and plenty of opportunity to get off the beaten track. The coastal walks are lovely and a trip into the Gavarres mountains is well worth the drive. At this time of year the "season" is only just getting underway and we enjoyed the tranquility of the beaches, villages, restaurants and towns. There are lots of lovely places to eat and we found the people very friendly and helpful and willing to try and understand our awful Catalan- we found out that many people speak good French which was a Godsend to us! We travelled as a family and our 2 boys aged 12 and 15 had a great time too.
