We stayed in Torre de la Horadada which has a mainly spanish heart to the town and mainly non-spanish residents in the surrounding newer built areas. The town has many restaurants and the main square is lively (but not in a Benidorm kind of way) in the evenings. There is no noise from the nearby motorway or airport and it is easy to get around this part of Spain because of the motorway access. We felt quite safe walking around late at night and the local market on Wednesday evenings was good.

we the town sleepy during the day, but at night it was lively, friendly with families enjoying the warm evenings, eating out, or just strolling. Local people very friendly and family minded.
