Travel Reviews : Rotonda

Review by Lisa Zammit from Rochester

relaxing quiet area, very peaceful, but not too far away to get on the road to different directions. ideal if you like golf as surrounded by golf clubs and very reasonable rates. the nearest beach is about a 10 minute drive and a mall at Port Charlotte about 25 mins away. Ideal for a relaxing break.

Review by Gillian Monk from Folkestone

This area of Florida is very lovely and we had a wonderful holiday despite the threat of the hurricane season. The destination being described on the website as 'Rotonda' could be greatly enhanced by adding 'Englewood' which is the area with shops and restaurants while 'Rotonda' is a housing development (albeit a very, very nice one) surrounded by waterways and golf. It is quiet and well maintained with beautifully manicured lawns and well tended properties - we loved every minute of it. Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda being easy 15 minutes or so provided extra shopping malls and restaurants and a day out on Sanibel Island was also a good experience. Lots of counrty music played live in the bars with thankfully no discos, no anti-social behaviour - perfect for our family.

Review by Liz McKerrall from Clydebank, Scotland

Rotonda was a place I had never heard of before I booked 'Heron's Rest'. I knew the approximate location and found it easily enough on arrival. The confusing bit, using the 'Satnav' had us leaving the villa by one road and returning by another although we always thought we were going in the same direction. Port Charlotte and Englewood are close by with a variety of restaurants and the Port Charlotte satisfies shoppers with the Mall and usual selection of Target, Walmart, Cicuit City. For more serious shopping, Fort Myers and Sarasota are each just over an hous away.

Rotonda itself is a circular maze of houses, waterways and golf courses. It is very relaxing and quiet, providing the perfect place to chill.
