Sagres is a small, low key town not yet affected by the rampant villa and apartment development of the rest of the southern Algarve. This is likely to change, though, within the next couple of years, as the town council have just changed the development regulations to allow large apartment complexes. What a shame! Go while it is small, relaxed and old fashioned.
Apart from the very interesting Fortalezza, with great new installations about the history of navigation and green energy, there's not a lot to do in Sagres unless you surf or windsurf. But the beaches are beautiful and there are plenty of pleasant places for coffee, juice, lunch and dinner. A glass of cold beer in a beach bar, watching the sun go down after a stroll on the cliffs on a warm evening, is perfect!

It was great to relax with the family and enjoying walks to the beach plus surfing!!
