A beautiful & peaceful place to relax and enjoy your holiday, have now been here three times in the last three years and cant wait to return, we are now having thought's about buying a villa at southern dunes but not to rent.

Southern Dunes is located about 20 minutes south of Walt Disney World. It is extremely easy to get to. Within the gates of the resort it is quiet and feels safe. There is an excellent 24 hour Walmart immediately outside the main entrance. Just across the busy highway there are numerous bars and restaurants that we walked to. These businesses seem to cater to locals so they are much more reasonably priced than the Disney resorts and Kissimmee area restaurants. It is really nice to meet the local Floridians as well.
Although I would have preferred to be closer to WDW, in the end we were very glad to have stayed at Southern Dunes resort.

Southern Dunes is very peaceful and idilic, it is a world away from the busy disney/universal theme parks. We have stayed there four times and would definately go back.

went to winter haven for Cleveland Indians spring training. Location was perfect and if they weren't moving to Arizona next year I would defnitely rent again next year.

SOUTHERN DUNES IS A VERY WELL LAID OUT SITE SET AROUND LOVELY GOLF COURSE, SECURITY WAS
FIRST CLASS, AND VERY OBLIGING, MAINTENANCE TO POOLS, GARDENS,ETC WAS CARRIED OUT ON REGULAR BASIS. EVEN THOUGH THE SITE IS WITHIN EASY REACH OF ALL AMENITIES IT FEELS VERY
SECLUDED AND SAFE. GEOGRAPHYWISE THIS LOCATION IS IDEAL FOR ACCESS TO ALL AREAS AND I
CAN STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A FLORIDA HOLIDAY.

Southern Dunes is situated in a lovely quiet area. The amenities nearby are excellent with a huge Walmart, fast food outlets and pharmacy.
The complex is very clean and safe for young children.

My daughter rented a house in Southern Dunes for several months before buying a home in Winter Haven so I knew the development before renting the house. I think the location is convenient even though I made many trips to the airport durning our week there. I appreciated the gated community as we always felt safe. It was a great place to go for a walk or an early morning run. The people were friendly and the common areas were well-kept.
We would have liked an infant swing on the playground and the second net on the tennis court has been down since I was there a year ago.
I will return to Southern Dunes the next time I plan a trip to the area.
Next time I will bring my golf clubs!
