Gautefall is a small ski resort with just a handful of lifts and runs, but with reasonably priced lessons, was ideal for our family of mixed-ability skiers.
Our half-term break (Feb 11-18) was very quiet with almost no queueing anywhere on the piste or in the rental shop and cafe.
From the 2 hour drive from Torp airport, the scenery was stunning with picture-postcard scenes along most of the route.
Top of the ski resort towards sunset was also breathtaking.
Probably not the best resort for intermediate-expert skiers, but for a reasonably laid-back family trip where you don't have to worry too much about any of your party getting lost or into trouble, its a good match.
There's also a small (reasonably priced) snowmobile route for a bit of an adrenaline blast through the snow.
The resort closed somewhat early at 4:30pm most of the week except for two nights when the piste is open until 8:30.
Combined with a comfortable log cabin, we had a very enjoyable trip.welcoming
