Megas Alexandros is set back of the main tomb of kings road, quiet but within reach of a good range of bars, tavernas and restaurants. Can recommned the Greek Cypriot restaurant Karlina (good meze!) - where they also have a little play area for children which doesn't intrude on the atmosphere at all. Also Avalar (or something like that) further along run by Germans.
Cyprus often runs out of mains drinking water which is a pain and also it STILL doesn't have a decent sewer system so you can't flush loo roll down! Paphos is bustling and there are plenty of shops and restuarants etc. The harbour area is lovely and you can sit with a drink or meal with the lights twinkling off the water right next to you.
The only good sandy beach is at Coral Bay which is 5 Euros each way for a family of four.

The Tomb of the Kings was a fascinating visit. Some of our flash photography from the tombs had some interesting white lights/spots on them, anyone else care to comment or notice their photos?
Suggest going early or later in the day, although it is by the sea with a gentle breese, it still gets very, very hot during the day and you only need about 2 hours max to see all of the tombs.

The apartment is situated in a good location on Tombs of the Kings where you can go and visit the old Tombs, bars and restuarants. You are also within minutes walk away to the old part of the town which again had a good range of taverns, restaurants, and shopping to meet most people`s needs. Excellent scenery from the top of the town. You were near to the main bus routes which could take you to the Water park, harbour, etc, however as we enjoying walking we were more than happy to walk along the Tomb of the Kings to the harbour which took approx 30-40 minutes walk where, again, you have a great selection of restaurants, etc.

This area is a bit scruffy but that's part of it's charm . The restaurants and bars have something for everyone and is perfectly safe day and night . It is well placed and you don't need a car though it is great to drive out and see the island, it's historical sites and beautiful scenery. Cyprus has something for everyone and every budget . The golf is superb though Biking and mountain biking are said to be the new golf , Gekko Mountain Sports provide fantastic tours and bike hire. Aphrodite Hills golf is a dream Best thing about the historic sights they are accessible and not festooned in signs and ropes , truly magnificent . We even saw the Red Arrows over Kourion !!!

Out of season this is a very quiet, friendly resort. There is good food, lots to explore, lovely walks, and it is good value. I would not want to visit in season as I imagine it would appeal to a younger generation.

The villa we stayed at in Regina Gardens is approx 1 mile from the Tombs barely a 20 minute walk. The Tombs were a fascinating piece of history to visit (entry free on a Sunday). Fat Mamas restaurant a short distance from the Tombs is well worth a visit. Lovely food, fast service, huge amounts and entertainment thrown in. The mosaics in Paphos are also well worth a visit. Archaeologists are still working on these. Boat hire, jet skis and paracending are just some of the activities available from Paphos harbour. Fantastic! Great shops too in the town. All in all a good location to choose and a brilliant time to be had.
