This was a nice quiet holiday, situation meant car hire a must, we thought Urb el Raso was slightly boring, and had four in a row of very similar restaurants/pubs. My 11 year old daughter was bored.
We had a quite, relaxing holiday, which is exactly what we got.

El Raso is a nice urbanisation within a 7 minute drive to Guardamar which has one of the nicest beaches I have seen in Spain.
A car is essential as your choice of dining/shopping is limited without one. The drive from Alicante or Murcia Airports to El Raso is easy and takes approx 1/2 hr.
There are some nice dys out found just s short drive from the urbanisation, such as a Safari Park and two water parks.
Guardamar itself is lovely, it has plenty of restaurants and shops, a beautiful park which is perfect for children and there is usually a fair in the evening.
I have found Guardamar to be a lovely lively family orientated Spanish town, much nice than many Spanish coastal towns. Wel worth a visit.

The urbanisation itself is very quiet and the communal pools are not very busy, even in August. There is a convenience store and a few bars/restaurants in the urbanisation but not so much to do in walking distance. By car, taxi or bus visit the beaches at La Mata, Guardamar, La Zenia and Torrevieja. There are water parks at Quesada and Torrevieja and go karting at Punta Prima. There are plenty of supermarkets a short drive away and the Habaneras shopping centre with a cinema and bowling complex about 10 minutes away by car.
