A perfect destination to get away from the usual tourist traps. The area feels authentically Italian with good food and wine in abundance. The atmosphere within the towns was always welcoming and the countryside, although not breathtakingly beautiful, was attractive working land - lots of olive groves and vines. Would recommend learning some basic Italian as there are very few English speakers (part of the fun!). Great for a relaxing holiday with a bit of culture when required.
