Travel Reviews : Westridge

Review by Jaishree Gohil from Coventry

Westridge is peaceful and relaxing to come back to after a hectic and thrilling day at Disney or any of the other theme parks. Yet it is only half an hour's drive away from all the excitement. There are petrol stations and grocery stores en route to get your supplies. A friendly neighbour helped us out with some initial directions and other small matters not obvious to holiday makers straight away.

its a lovely area nice and peaceful and the people are also friendly. the house is really nice its really big and spacious. the pool and hot tub are good for relaxing in and cooling off after a long day at the parks. the house is a dream you feel like your a millionaire living in it. your also near the parks, supermarkets and restaurants. i would highly recommend this house to everyone i know. its great for big families because its got 4 bedrooms,3 bathrooms its great. we visited busch gardens, seaworld, epcot, magic kingdom, animal kingdom and discovery cove. i highly recommend all these they were all great i swam with the dolphins at discovery cove so this was the best for me. we ate mostly at the parks but when we didnt we ate at dennys or applebees they were both really nice they had a good range of food for everyone.

Very nice and safe-looking area with well-kept houses and gardens. A bit far from restaurants, but we didn't mind as we enjoyed our well-equipped kitchen instead.

Been to florida many times, one of the best areas we have stayed in, would not hesitate to buy a property in Westridge ourselves.

Review by Pat Wright from Knutsford

Westridge is a great estate just off the N27 very nicely established with good standard of cleanliness and neat gardens. The people we met on this estate were extremely friendly and welcoming. There is an excellent community pool, tennis courts and childrens play area in the centre of the estate. Nearby there is an excellent Publix supermarket , we ordered a 60th Birthday cake for my husband from them and they did an excellent job of it, also on the same complex there is excellent Indian restaurant that also does Take aways. A Pizza take away and there is a Hairdressers and Nail salon. If you don't wish to drive there are good reliable taxi companies who will take you to your restaurant or wherever quite cheaply

Review by Karan Probert from Newcastle-under-Lyme

We stayed at Westridge in Kissimee, Florida. The beauty of being on the estates on highway 27 is the peace and quiet when you are all Disney'd out, you can go back to the villa and just chill in the spa with a glass of wine. Our advice if you are interested in visiting Florida for the first time is to plan, plan and plan again. Ensure you buy your tickets before you go, we decided to purchase the 14 day tickets so we had the choice of re-visiting one of the parks if we wished to do so and inevitably there will be one of the parks you decide is your favourite, ours is Epcot and you must stay for the fireworks display as it will certainly be worth it. Always check before you go to see if there are any American national holidays as the parks will be heaving at these times.

Just a few bits of information on musts at the following parks. Visit Magic Kingdom first as this will ensure you know you are in Disney:

Magic Kingdom-Visit Liberty Bell for food although book early as this restaurant gets very busy due to the good food.. Ensure you have a visit to Pirates of the Carribean for the youngters and work your way around the park anti-clockwise and try to do the rides which get busiest whilst the parade is on, this way you won't queue for long. Always try to see the spectro-magic parade at night as it is a beautiful parade.

Epcot-This park is wonderful, the ride we most enjoyed were Soarin although we recommend you fastpass this as it gets very busy. A must see here is the different continents and some of them have rides. This is a wonderful experience but please get a place around 45 mins before the firework display as it gets very busy around the edge of lake with people who want to watch and ensure you get a space with no trees.

Disney MGM-This is a varied park with something for everyone. The two best rides are Tower of Terror and Rock and Roller Coaster but again you may need to fastpass on busier days. Go and see the streets and whilst you are there visit the backlot tour and don't forget the muppet show. At the end of the day around 7.30pm Fantasmic is shown, but be warned get there as early as you can to avoid standing at the back and not seeing a thing, very disappointing for children when all the adults stand in their way, this is a fantastic show.

Animal Kingdom-go see as many animals you can in the morning as the day heats up the animals sleep so you don't see them around mid-day. Visit Everest.

Univeral Studios-Well what can we say about this park-AWESOME. Visit as many of the rides as you can and do a second day if you don't get to see it all. There is Twister, Earthquake, Mummy's Revenge, Jaws, Shrek, Terminator and there is a new ride The Simpsons due to open 2008.

Islands of Adventure-This park can get very busy rides that are a must are The Hulk, Duelling Dragons and Spider Man. There is plenty for everyone here, young or more mature and Jurassic park is very atmospheric.

We have visited Florida twice in 3 years and we will go again we have enjoyed it greatly, although there is alot more to Florida than just theme parks and when we visit again we hope to see more of its natural beauty.

If you decide to holiday in Florida, ensure you have plenty of energy and staying power as this holiday can make you feel like you need another holiday when you return but it is well worth it. Drink plenty of water and slap on the suncream as the sun is very strong, even in the shade...........but ENJOY.

Review by Jacqueline Stocker from Chelmsford

We have stayed at various villas on Westridge over the last ten years, it is a nice relaxing quiet place to come at the end of a long day out. It is far enough away from the attractions to enjoy the quiet, but not to far to drive to access the theme parks.
