Review by ROY from FALMOUTH Algorfa is a lovely village the spanish people are very friendly you are made to feel very welcome in the centre is the square which is nice to sit and watch the world go by. there are few bars and restraurants but it does not spoil the village life.
Review by Kevin from Sandhurst, Berkshire, UK Algorfa had little by way of facilities that were open, even in August. There were 2 restaurants worthy of the name, often neither were open in the evening. The rest of the facilities were snack-type food, although the Pizza takeway was good (default because of nowhere else to get food at 2130 on a Mopnday night). The one bar on the square was also rarely open and nothing stayed open much past 1100 (when we would have expected things to start up in most places in Spain). Every bar, shop and the 2 restaurants all British-owned, so no taste of rural Spain here ! There were two mini supermarkets, both with very little stock and high prices - easy to see why many make the trek to Carrefour. Recommend the Internet cafe/bar on the main street, though - good coffee and very reasonable internet rates !
Review by TRUDI from BIRMINGHAM Algorfa is a typical spanish village with a village square where locals and visitors congregate. If a holiday resort is what you are after with all entertainment on your doorstep then Algorfa is not for you. However if a relaxing, family holiday spent in a beautiful, typically spanish village is more your style then Algorfa is for you. There are several bars and good quality resturants both Spanish and British within the village. For the children there is a large park and football pitch. There is also a large communial pool although most of the apartment complexes have pools. Its a good idea to hire a car although not essential as there is a bus service and local taxi. There are several good beaches to choose from - Guadamar is lovely and about a 15 minute drive away. La Finca golf course is only a 5 minute drive. There are several markets to choose from - the Sunday market on Lemon Tree lane Guadamar is excellent. Torrevieja is well worth a visit, its about a 20 minute drive away. Its a large town beside the sea with plenty to do. There is also a large water park here. Algorfa is well worth a visit. ... more
