Review by Martin from London Almancil is a small working town. It is not picturesque but has a warmth and welcoming feel about it. It is unspoilt by clubs and anti social drinking venues. There are very good family restaurants and bars, especially the bakery. It is a place to recharge the batteries rather than burn them out. Relax and enjoy
Review by Heather from Wolverhampton As we stayed during the october half term it was very quite as the water parks close down on the 31st October. It was quite out of the way and you definately need a car to get around, and to get to the supermarkets and restaurants. You did feel safe at the villa as you had a lock on the gate and only people with keys can get in or out. Almancil at this time of year we did find not very busy but travelling around going to Vilamora and Faro there where very nice shopping centre's restaurants which catered for most peoples needs, from very expensive price range to very reasonable. If you like fish there where quite a few fish restaurants that where very well priced and excellent value. I should imagine that during the high season it would be extremely busy, I would recommend it to friends as a good holiday destination to travel to.
Review by Neal from Scunthorpe A good base to access other parts of Algarve from. Almancil didn't offer much in the way of a holiday resort in itself - car essential unless you just want to stay in the villa for the duration.
Review by sharon from Lurgan, Northern Ireland Almancil is not the typical holiday town it is a working town with not so many tourists. Almancil has some very good resturants and some good shopping.
