Review by sue from chafford hundred Altinkum is a vibrant resort with a lovely main beach which if it gets too much for you has alternative smaller quiter beaches close by. If you wish the best of all worlds you can have the action of main beach within distance of the quiter side of tukish life. Boat trips are fantastic value with plenty of choice & if history is your thing, then its all available on a small scale locally or for days trips further afield. Turkish people are amongst the friendliest have found & will support any attempt at their tricky language with pleasure.
Review by gayle from newcastle upon tyne Altinkum is a wonderful family orientated resort which provides, in addition to a wonderful clean beach and safe swimming areas the resort caters for all age groups. The restaurants are very child friendly and the food on offer is varied and very palatable and reasonably priced. The locals in the resort will help whenever they can and are very friendly and most can speak enough English to get you through your querie. There are good shopping facilities on the beach and also within 5 minutes walk from the beach with a very good bus service to cater for the ones who wish to venture further into other areas and to other attractions. "The best apartment" we have ever stayed in during all our years In Turkey!!! The company who manage these properties has to be second to none with no hassles whatsoever and the enquiries to the owners are answered within 24 hours of the e-mail being sent. This particular property is in a quiet area ver y close to most of the facilities in Altinkum, and is furnished to an excellent stasndard with every facility a family would need. ... more
Made to feel so welcome My family and I were in Altinkum last year and we all loved it. We were made to feel so welcome. The Touch of Class restaurant was superb, as well as the food and host.
Lots to do I went to Altinkum for two weeks in June and it was the best time ever. It's a lovely, friendly place and loved it. I'm going back in September because I loved it. There's lots to do and I was never bored. My pals and I were were thinking about moving over four six months because it was totally mint.
Cheap and friendly I know Altinkum very well. I've visited numerous times and I've even stayed for the season. It's a really nice, friendly place. It is full of bars, restaurants and a few nightclubs. It's cheap and definitely worth a visit. Everything is fake, apart from the jewellery which is amazing. My top tip for Turkey is to haggle - they love it. But the perfume clothes and bags are real. You can get a bit of hassle if you are a group of girls but a simple "No, thank you" then walk away should do the trick. The food is amazing too. Go to the summer garden restaurant. The nicest time to go is September. July and August are too hot.
