Good roads link all the major cities although off the main road the tracks can be wearing on your car tyres. Cities are historic with many interesting sites to visit but remember the siesta times when towns, and villages shut. Rhonda is beautiful as is Granada, but be aware not many English speaking people and so a knowledge of Spanish an advantage. Try to converse in Spanish, the locals are very appreciative and will welcome your efforts and assist if you make the effort. The area is quite diverse, from Malaga up the high peaks on Montes De Malaga are rocky and obviously hilly, however as you approach Antequera the Mountains give way to large flat plains full of fields of crops, sunflowers and fruit trees. The roads to Rhonda and Granada heav many side road restaurants/cafes and you would need months to visit them and try but they all looked gorgeous and worthy of a stop and try...Not and area for vibtant nightlife and 18-30's, but and area of real Spain and Spanish customs where you can immerse in real Spanish life and customs. ... more
