Review by Review by visitor Had a fabulous time with the family - hired a car, self-catered and just got on with it really ... If youre looking for a quiet, serene and peaceful holiday with the family then  Lakeside Villas could well tick all the boxes.  It has its own private pool and is miles away from the hustle and bustle of a traditional hotel based holiday. It didnt take too long to adjust to the driving (though this was our initial hang-up) and the views whilst driving were spectacular - many parts reminded us of the mountainous scenic and dusty routes and roads of Jamaica! This Villa comes highly recommended - it was safe, secure, peaceful and relaxing - we could have done with more time to be honest.  The welcome pack provided did not go unnoticed/unappreciated and was a nice touch.  The local people were great and the restaurants were affordable and enjoyable.  Shout out to Marcia, Julie and Lloyd your hosting skills and patience were most appre ciated.  Would we go again - without any hesitation! ... more
Review by Rod from Tewkesbury This area of Turkey, whilst still quietly rural, I can see is about to expand with the imminent start of the new marina and golf course complexes nearby, Dalaman represents very good value for holiday makers and those looking for long term investment in property.
Review by lynn from manchester We loved Dalaman, it was a lovely old town and everyone was so friendly. The beaches were very beautiful, and the food and drink was really cheap. I would recommend a car to get around as there are some fantastic places to visit but too far to walk!
Review by Nada from Manchester Dalaman itself is a small, quiet town that is quite rural in parts although it appears to be going through regeneration to make it into a more tourist orientated area. This is not an area where there is at present the touristy hub of bars and nightclubs, it is still a small, relatively unspoilt town which is still essentially Turkish but has been marked as a soon-to-be tourist spot. There are new villa complexes being build with communal pools, gyms and other amenities springing up in the more rural areas outside the centre, although they are all currently in the build stage. Dalaman has it's own airport which you don't have to travel far to get to, it's just 5 minutes away from the centre which is great especially at the end of your holiday as you don't have the mad rush to get to it. The town centre is not incredibly busy but the nice thing is that there is a little park area with cafe's and seating where the locals seem to get together and h ave tea or play backgammon and there is a playground for the kids. There are also the usual little supermarkets, small local restaurants, shops, bakeries, butchers etc in and around the main town centre and there is a police station. You can also find restaurants on the routes outside of the town in rural settings that in quite a few cases have really nice gardens with play areas for kid's and are are really nice to go and sit in. The other advantage of Dalaman is that it is strategically located, as it is very close by car to a lot of well known attractions and resorts such as Sarigerme beach, which is close by and one of the best beaches. Dalyan (which is great for evenings out to restaurants etc) and the famous Gocek (where movie stars and even Prince Charles have been) are only about 10-15mins away by car, you can get gullit rides to the Islands from these places. Oludeniz is also not far either. This are just a few of the places you can get to easily from Dalaman by car, it's a super place as a base to explore the Aegean and mediterranean coast. What more can I say! ... more
Review by TINA from bootle Dalaman is wonderful place. It is picture perfect. The locals are extremely friendly and helpful. There are lots of things to do, boat trip in Dalyan was excellent, visiting Turtel beach and the mud baths. Boat trip to  the 12 Islands was also good. Oludeniz is a wonderful place and Fetiye is good for the market, which is an experience in itself. Calis is also a nice place with the waterpark here as well.
