Review by LARA from ISLE OF MAN WE THOUGHT HARD ABOUT WHERE TO STAY IN ANTIGUA & I HAVE TO SAY THAT FOR SURE, ANTIGUA VILLAGE WAS FOR SURE THE BEST CHOICE! THE APARTMENT & LOCATION WERE STUNNING & MADE OUR HOLIDAY ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
Review by John from Merthyr Tydfil Dickenson Bay is beautiful, particularly in the region of Antigua Village, where the pace of holiday life is so relaxing. The views of the beaches are breathtaking and the tropical colours are stunning with the green coconut palms, turquoise sea, white sand and blue sky just makes you feel like you are in "The Blue Lagoon". The Coconut Grove Restaurant is very nice, and the menu is superb, although a little on the expensive side, but then the service is outstanding as is the food and drink. The staff there are very friendly and helpful and always look immacutalely dressed. To the right of Antigua Village is the Sandals Resort, which unfortunately has taken up much of the beach with all their watersports equipment. It doesn't look like the holiday brochures any more, with so much sports junk on the beach. Walking along the beach opposite Sandals one evening was particularly disturbing, as my wife, daughter and I found o ut why it may be called Sandals. You have to wear them on the beach, because of the beer and wine glasses as well as bottles left in the sand. Perhaps this was one oversight from Sandals, but I fear it is becoming a little too commercialised for my liking, personally.
When swimming in the sea, one must be wary of the idiots that use jet skis etc, too close inshore.
Dickenson Bay is beautiful, I hope it can stay that way without too much disruption from tourists who would be better off in Benidorm or Ibiza. ... more
