Review by Anis from Epsom El Campello is a quiet well kept and well run beach with a long walk/promenade with many restaurants and bars. The beach is clean and the fine white sand and gently sloping beach is perfect for young children,a lot of Spanish come here so thats a good sign.
Review by Andrew from London El Campello is a very authetically spanish town with lots of beach-front restaurants and bars, and the sandy beach is perfect for lounging and swimming and there are lots of showers to freshen up too. Definitely worth a visit, and its very well connected with the local tram services (Alicante costs 1euro and 20mins to get there, and there are loads of other beachs nearby on the tram) and its only 30euros in taxi from Alicante airport so theres no need to waste money on renting a car whilst your out there! Definately a good base for a holiday!
Review by Review by visitor Just 13 km North of Alicante is the town of El Campello, offering a history and charm all of its own. With miles of wide sandy white beach, a pretty fishing harbour, views of the mountains and a wide selection of friendly eateries and bars, you can have all the advantages of a small, peaceful, relaxing resort but with the vibrancy of Alicante City and Benidorm within easy reach. As in all towns in Spain, especially the ones that are geared towards tourism, there are usually 2 parts to them: the old and the new. In the old town area, you will find the House of Culture, which quite often has a a nice show of local artists. Every town has a church (here it is Saint Theresa Church, built in 1849). There are excellent beach facilities and a large number of good quality restaurants and cafe bars that spill out on the modern promenade that sweeps around the coast. However in El Campello you will a lso find families still living in tiny seafront houses painted in bright colours, that once were homes to fishermen. And as an example of the towns character it still holds a bustling weekly fish market, of which the local restaurants take full advantage.
If you really want to enjoy a day trip of the Costa Blanca, in El lCampelllo you can board the narrow gauge railway, which leads you on a romantic train ride to the North to Denia and Calpe via Benidorm. And if you prefer, El Campello is also starting point of the new Alicante Streetcar (called Tram) bringing you directly to Alicante city. ... more
Review by vicky from scarborough We liked Campello sea front promenade and bars/restaurants. However, they clearly cater for the tourists and we found prices very expensive. The actual town of Campello is a bit scruffy but there is clear evidence of shops being done up and improvements being made. It didn't help that we saw it out of season when a lot of places were in the process of being spruced up for the summer.
Review by Sarah from Swinton, Manchester El Campello is a very nice resort with things for all the family to do. The beach is beautiful and is a wonderful place to sit and relax anytime of the year.
