Review by Brendan from Billingham Kato Paphos could be a very nice resort. It's spoiled by the Bar Street area. Too many English style noisy and scruffy pubs at night, the place looks like a ghost town during the day. It's dirty and has a distinct lack of quality. The harbour has a more laid back style, the small beaches in the town are well kept and clean. The resort could be a very good one, unfortunately it has pandered to the chavs to make an easy buck. Just 4 hours from all main English airports and just 10 minutes from the refurbished Paphos airport. Historically rich but also has a lively nightlife if you choose. If you have a hire car then you have an even wider range to do within a short distance. We used to live in Cyprus and found it really cheap and so were shocked by how expensive it has turned since joining the EU. Alot of the shops in Kato Paphos still price there items in Cypriot £ on the labels and so make sure that you check properly or you will get a nasty shock when you get to the checkout and its converted into the Euro!
